You have asked me about some History so I'm starting this way first
I had my box done up by a Cabinet Maker for Juanita Mary, she in turn will pass it on to her Daughter later on.

Grandpa David Dalrymple
married Mary Darge
He was one of the best Cabinet makers in Glasgow Scotland. They had Hugh, Agnes, John, Elizabeth and Janet.
Grampa always called Gramma his wee one. Gramma Dalrymple died when Janet was 6 years old. Janet was bor in 1890. On her 10th birthday Gramp made this box for her (Keepers--they used to call them). He died the next year leaving his wee one and orphan. Her 10th birthday would be the turn of the century. When I turned 10 my mother gave it to me. I took great care of it, but after I was married it got pushed around. I had a cabinet maker at the church do it up for me.
You (Juanita Mary) and Beaver both are good with handwork. I thought you might put a tray back in like a jewl box; it had one. It also had a lock in it.
